Default Removing Accord V6 Engine (top or Bottom

I've pulled 3 honda engines all 4cyl and I have always pulled them out the top of the car. I want to know if I can pull this V6 out the top too? I really don't want to drop it through the bottom like the manual sez. So is it possible to pull this V6 through the top or not? Curious if anyone has done it before. The tranny will be attached. 2002 accord V6

thanks.

You can try to pull it from the top. But for a V6 setup, I think it's easier to drop it down below.

Thanks, I'm going to give it a shot from the top. I will let you know how it goes and post pics.

I can not, for the life of me, understand why anyone in their right mind would want to drop an engine instead of pulling it.

Me either... When I saw that in the Helms manual I couldn't believe it. They want you to remove the whole K frame too. That is why I'm going from the top (or at least trying)

If you have a lift or can jack the car high enough it's easier to drop it. Less chance of damaging things with a swinging engine that way too.

Next time I do a swap I am going in from the bottom so I can see for myself.

These are the links where you view the pics of the engine swap. I got the engine through the top. It was a little tight, but not too bad.

Next time use an external image hosting site like Photobucket, makes things a ton easier! Glad you got it out.
