Default Transmission Questions

This may already be on here somewhere but I've got a few questions. I have a 96 Accord with the stock 5 speed and can't shift into first unless I'm pretty much stopped. Is 1st synchronized in these tranny's or are my sync rings shot? Also have a grind when going into 5th unless I double clutch. Has anyone had this problem before and was it a bad synchro or a bent shift fork or something else? Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Transmission Questions

It is synchronous engagement. You shouldn't be able to shift into first unless you're at a stop or a very slow roll.
