tuned today
so i got a pretty much stock setup. ls block gsr head. butterfly delete. intake dc headers apexi exhaust. head ported. walbro fuel pump. custon tranny. upgraded mounts. took my car to go get a tune today because the guy offered me a great deal on an aem v2. i made 143whp at 7k. i didnt wanna take it any higher because of the stock ls rod bolts. is 143 good at 7? what could i expect if i had taken it to say 8500. i know there is alot of variables to play in that but just wondering if i did good with these numbers and what could have been my max.
Holy **** I almost make more torque than you make horsepower lmao. Why bother even mix matching parts and trying to only put down in the 140's? That's like a rather stock B16 or a built D series.
why not put in ARP hardware?? Its very simple to do. What dyno? I'll tell you now, it sounds alittle on the low side, but numbers are just numbers, run it at the track, lets see how it does.
Haha if I didn't like current sig so much^^
but that is LOW for an LSV the're supposed to make more than a gsr(b18c1) stock for stock do you have a graph. and if that's AFTER the tune on a AEM EMS
.
my 19 y/o GSR made more than that stock lol what are your comp numbers

yes i have a graph. on a chassic dyno. not sure on compression. and i have arp rod bolts just dont have the knowhow to pull the block and put them in the rods. and even if i did id wait until i have enough parts to build it completely. keep in mind that i only let him rev it to 7000 though. flewwbyu u made alot more power but also 1100 rpms higher lol. i think i made 111 tq. lemme go look at the paper to be sure

ya...that's pretty bad for an lsv the whole point of those is the longer stroke=more TQ do a comp test will help you know if your car is actuly that slow, your tuner doesn't know what he's doing or the EMS is NOT better than a s300 or if that dyno read incorrect. taking it on the back road will not tell you anything
and healthy b16 may put down 130 to the wheels but it needs to be healthy.

alright so a stock gsr is 170bhp@7600rpm. meaning its probably pushing 150-160 to the wheels. thats brand spanking new off the line right? and you would lose hp through making it lsv because you lose compression. but the stroke is bigger so you gain torque. so 143 to the wheels isnt too bad is it at 7k? like i said i made the tuner stop at 7k. and no im not answering my own question im asking if im correct

ls/v's do not make more over a similarly modded gsr. Matter of fact, I was shown like 10 ls/v setups that all made like 160-175whp.. one had 190whp with cams.. and all this "torque" thing, is fictional. Its just a matter of setting your car up and having the right tune. Im making 138ftlbs on 87 octane with bolt ons and mild cams..
This is a waste of time. Op doesn't know what he is talking about. I lost 69seconds of my life and now i am gonna waste 30 sec of your time. Post your dyno sheet, and check your compression. Check everything. I know we can all agree that your number isn't close to a LSv setup that been tuned. Key word is tuned. Or the shop you took it to sucks at tuning. Whatever it is, your not close to what you are suppose to be making but the real way to find out is to take it to the Drag Strip. Like DDtech said, "numbers are just numbers."
i had a stock p28 in it when i went up there to hold me until i get the tune and they dynoed it and it put down 123 with the p28. and went to 143 with the aem. he is a certified aem tuner and has a 900whp gsr sitting in the shop and they race stock cars. im pretty sure they are not some backyard tuners. how do i check compression? can i rent a machine for it from autozone or something? weve got a local track and ill call them next week. i would appreciate it if u take the bs comments elsewhere. if you feel the need to talk **** then why even comment?
