Yes its geniune, you can kind of see the tag on the picture of the back. It's semi fat friendly, really depnds on what you cam withstand. I beleive there is a maximum rating, check recaro's website to be sure.

Bump for some good parts being sold by a good guy! Great deal on that seat! The bracket alone is nearly $100 from Wedge.
