I have a 99 crv 5 speed and whenever you go to turn around with the wheel all the way, there is a loud creaking noise coming from the rear of the car. a shop told me it could be the rear struts causing it. anyone know anything more on this

 

Hi mate, the problem isnt that serious, you just need your rear diff oil changing.

 

i wouldnt call that noise a creak haha, but it is worth checking or just spending the 20 bucks and 15 minutes to service to eliminate it.

 

is it a creak or a grind? and does it come from the middle, back right or back left?

I know this is beating a dead horse around here but if you change that rear diff fluid only use Honda Brand Dual Pump Fluid

It's about $20 a bottle but it's the only fluid you can run, your rear diff has a clutch pack in there and running any kind of oil will jack it up.
