Almost daily i have strangers approach me and compliment my car. And the one thing they always gush about the most is they say ohhhhhh woooow you even have the original si wheels!!! When i bought it the guy talked about how hard to find they were but after getting so many compliments i was just kinda curious whats the deal? They are aluminum 7 spoke on a 91 crx si

 

Those wheels are belong to EK Si and very hard to find that's why. When you own them you don't want to get rid of it . I have the same wheels like you have and loving it.

The factory 91 Si wheel has 5 spokes, AKA swirlies I think the 90 has them too but I have a 91 and can't say for sure. The 88-89 have 7, aka sawblades. The only thing special about them is that everybody got rid of them and got aftermarket wheels. Now they aren't as common.

 

Rare just makes them valuable and people like valuable things. I personally like the thinner spoke aftermarket rims over the stock ones. But I'm not much of an OEM guy. If it works it works.

 

Those are the exact same wheels i have. What is a EK Si that you said they are from? Everyone who talks to me about them always goes on about how awesome they are and they call them original si wheels. I was just wondering other than looking good why do thwy draw so much attention from strangers lol

 

those Si wheels are from the 99-2000 Civic Si with a B16 from the dealer. Si was the higher end civic and so there arent as many around, let alone full sets of wheels.

however NOT originally from a CRX Si.

i guess theyre "special" because ppl liked that much later Civic because it had the B16.

past that, its just a matter of taste.

still heavy OEM wheels tho. 6" wide isnt that great either.

 

Rare? No.

Hard to find? No.

Exclusive to the 1999 and 2000 Civic Si? No.

uh, you guys are talking bout 7 spoke oem si wheels...those are not crx wheels they are 99 00 si wheels...i have a set at my house just laying there...2 are outside in my yard and 2 in my cargo van... nothing special about them, timeless look they have though

I hate them.
Here in Canada, sometimes they will sell for upwards of $500 for stock rims!

this. we have kids here who think their rattlecanned meshies w/ ok tires are worth upward of $500. and when you call them out on it.. they get super defensive.

 

Bought my GS-R blades for 200 decent condition with great tires. Its just fan boys that take it over the top nothing else.

Thanks for the link. And no i was not joking. Of all the hondas i see on the road here i had not seen the same wheels on any of them. With so many people complimenting my wheels like they were special i was just wanting to find out what all the fuss was about. Mystwry solved thanks to everyones posts here....now i know where they came from i still dont see why so many people like them so much. They look good on my car so ill juat leave em on there.

Those wheels aint ****. I'm glad I dont have a Civic, I dont have to deal with punks thinking 15 year old 14 and 15 in wheels sale for $500 with bald tires.
