'96 Accord Engine Swap
I have finally decided to swap my Accord's engine. I am looking for suggestions on what to drop in it? I am looking for a lot of stock horsepower that I can still upgrade with a turbo. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
People are going to jump on my back for this but....
F22a.... Have the head worked over, get a proper cam in there and that thing will move some serious air. Bisimoto has done some pretty cool things with the F22a.
Wanting VTEC? H22a.
The F22 series engine are notorious for making as much torque as they do HP once boosted.

I agree with Blaze45. There will be a lot of opinions when it comes to what engine to swap in or turbocharger. The F22 power plant is a great choice if you plan on doing a stock engine with a turbo setup and along with a Bisimoto camshaft regrind and valvetrain upgrade, it would be a serious contender!
In the end, it will come down to your horse power goals and of course budget. Tell us a bit more about your overall goals.

My Accord's stock is a F22B2 engine and it only has 125hp. I thought the stock HP of a F22a was a 150 (and that is with a F22A7 Euro engine)? I mean that isn't much stock jump. I was hoping for something closer to 200 stock horses. Maybe like a F20B, H22/23 series (such as Blaze45 suggested), or if I could get lucky enough to find one a F20C engine? Honestly I am very new to Hondas (and all other foreign cars) so I do not know what will drop in to my car. So what you guys suggest will be what I decide to put into it. Julio@Bisimoto I am 18 so I am single and don't have anyone to support except myself so honestly my goals are to make this car as bad *** as possible. I don't have a budget so I am open to all options.
bisi pulling low 9's in a f22 swapped insight. f22 power baby. i knew the f22a had power before i even knew about bisimoto. got to give props to julio for his knowledge and great customer service down at the bisimoto headquarters

Otherwise, the F22 has plenty of power boosted. With that much budget, stick to the F and use that extra cash and build it for boost. It'll make plenty of power. No need to sleeve to run forged pistons. :-)
4.40k hahaha you will make more power on boost f22 with forged internals then you would buying a 2-3k jdm h22a with tranny and ecu and still have to get axles, mounts, misc. stuff or what ever your choice would be, and trying to make it n/a *note* n/a is more expensive then turbo setups. bisimoto is making 300+hp on a f22 N/A running 9's but that motor is bored out to 2.4L MAD CUSTOM **** SUPER EXPENSIVE, apposed to turbo

Bisimoto F22A/B H-beam rods and forged piston combo
Upgraded wrist pins
MLS 86mm head gasket
Balance shaft elimination kit
Level 1.2 turbo camshaft regrind with Pro springs and titanium retainers

If op wants more power with very little work the h22 would be best...
If op wants a nice project that is very rewarding the f22 would be best...
its tit for tat pick ya poison.
