So I got a good deal on a cluster from a fellow honda techer. I think Dave stole it
I'd like to maybe install it this weekend (Don't worry D, I'll call you when I can't get the screws out) Any "how to"s available. It was previously used in an 00 GSR. Does it make a difference if my ITR is 01?

the wiring should be identical
the only wires that may be different are fuel light and seat belt light. i think there may be 1 or 2 more, but i forgot. just tace the back of the cluster and you'll see whats what

From my notepad:
Remove 3 screws holding in gas tank gauge.
Remove 3 screws holding on tach.
Remove 4 screws holding on speedometer.
Remove 3 screws holding on water temp gauge.
Remove 3 screws holding on gauge cluster bezel.
Once you've removed all of those screws, simply disconnect all the tabs and the cluster will split into two parts.
I recommend you split the cluster with the gauge faces facing to the ground. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0">
From there it is just a matter of swapping the actual gauges and then snapping the cluster back together and putting all the screws back in.

USE that method if you want to leave finger prints everywhere and leave dust trapped in the housing.
Simplest and cleanest way is to swap the green electrical film (cluster motherboard) from the JDM cluster to USDM cluster. And, insert appropriate bulbs in there. NO need to crack open the clear plastic cover.

Dust, etc? Well the cluster marc has has been opened 3 times at least and was the cleanest thing installed in my car (ok, not hard to do considering
) but IIRC there's no dirt/dust/fingerprints, etc anywhere on it.Marc: Just plug it in for now. Ignore the lights and make sure you stop for gas often enough and I'll fix next time I see you, or bring it to sebring this weekend and I'll set it up. I also gave D instructions on doing it. It's really really easy and should take you no more than 10 minutes at most no matter which way you do it.
