Default exhaust leak need opions...

Should I just replace the mid pipe (because that's where the leak is coming from) or get a full exhaust system.

If you have money to spend on a full system, go for it. If you're broke, you should probably just fix the leak

What's the condition of the other parts of your exhaust system? If they appear to be still solid, why replace them?

I was thinking of getting a cheap ebay one for the moment but then again I don't want a nasty sounding muffler...

I gotcha. I felt the same way last summer when my Accord needed some exhaust components. I could have gone to Midas muffler and got a free replacement of the muffler but I also needed another section of the exhaust system and Midas price on it was about $100 more than the same part from Advance Auto Parts. For that reason, and because the old Midas muffler on my car had an exhaust pipe that was only about 1 1/4 inch in diameter, I decided to skip Midas this time around and get something more exciting. I bought a low-cost Thrush Welded Muffler; I believe it was this one: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...335#fragment-2 At the time of my purchase, I got a $10 discount, so I only paid about $30 plus tax. Since the muffler was not a correct fit the Accord and the muffler had no hanger fasteners on it, I took it to a shop that welded two bolts onto the muffler; they go into rubber hangers hanging down from the car. The shop also welded in a short section between the muffler and exhaust pipe in front of the muffler since the muffler was shorter than the standard length muffler. I also had the shop weld a Chrome tip to the muffler.

This muffler makes a big sound; I think it really doesn't "muffle" much. LOL. If I were doing it again, I might go with something like Flowmaster Inc. 50 Delta Flow Muffler - 2.00 Offset In / 2.00 Offset Out - Moderate Sound. This is an exact fit (in length) but still would need some hanger hooks welded on.
