Default 1st Gen CRX Clutch/Brake Pedal Mount Failure

Word to the wise: If your clutch pedal effort is high, go ahead and lube/free up the cable at your earliest opportunity. You may not notice how much force it's taking to operate the clutch, because it just gets progressively worse. I didn't notice mine until it broke the mounting bracket for the clutch and brake pedals that mounts to the firewall under the dash. It flexed due to the excess force until it finally cracked and broke. I was able to fix it, by taking it off and bolting on a metal reinforcement, but lubing the cable earlier would have saved a lot of labor. Good luck. Feel free to PM or reply if you have questions about the earliest CRX models. Mine is an 84 first year model that I've owned since new. Svenfran
