Braille Battery
Hey all I'm looking for some help on choose a battery for my race car. I'm building an all motor drag car that's used for racing only. The car will currently be setup for a 12 volt system with an alternator. The motor is around 14.5:1 compression. The battery that I'm looking at using is the Braille B14115. That battery has 904 PCA and 15 Ah. I'm wondering if this battery has enough power for what I need?

why run an alternator for drag racing? I can understand needing one in circle track etc, but you are running such a short duration, just charge the battery between heats
I wasn't trying to be secretive man. I have a line on a manufacturer that is wanting to tap into the drag racing world. I'm not a sponsor, so I did not want to violate any rules.
We have a distributorship signed up with them and will be doing a group buy within the next 3 months.

I just bought a Shuriken SK-BT20. From the reviews I have seen, a lot of honda-tech'ers have pretty good luck with them. Much cheaper than the Braille batteries as well.
Here's a link to the one I bought:

I am a fan of 16v but a lot goes into running them at the track (Gotta have power to charge, time to charge, etc) so not necessarily for everyone
We have been doing some testing on the Antigravity Batteries and we have found the 12v one to be working awesome, we are still working out some charging bugs on the 16v stuff but are hopeful on those too
Very nice lightweight, compact batteries

Until Lithium technology comes down to a reasonable range, 16 volt wont be thought about. I can take $1000 - $1400 and put it somewhere more beneficial.

At this point 16 volt is not an option. From the research I have done it looks like the popular 16 volt battery that is being used is the Turbo Start. Turbo Start looks to make two versions, a light weight battery that weights 32 pounds and a regular version that weights 42 pounds. The battery I look to run is 11.5 pounds and the alternator, belt and mounting hardware weigh 10 pounds with a total weight of 21.5 pounds. The 12 volt system is 10.5 pounds lighter and aprox. $370 cheaper then the light weight 16 volt system. As far a drag turning the alternator, IMO I dont believe will cause that much of a power loss to were the car wont be competitive.
