Hi I have a 1996 Honda Accord 4 cylinder that is intermittently shutting off. The vehicle will shut off while driving or while idling and after it does this it is difficult to start back but will start. I have had the vtec solenoid, the valve cover gasket, the spark plugs, wires and distributor rotor/cap replaced as well.

On a limb...testing needed. A few things to test....main relay, ign switch (elect part), ICM.

Have a volt meter and will to do some tests when the issue happens?

 

I'll 2nd the Main Relay......was my problem. I bought "better" used junkyard replacement part, melted/resoldered the "large" solder points, let cool, installed, worked fine ever since. Was NOT the ignition key problem, but got new key cut in the process ($10). Good Luck!
