Ok Guys I can't figure this out. I have a 88 ef hatch 1.5 all stock but exhaust and intake and its a 5 speed ok my prob is it dies when I try to drive it down the road. My fuel pup went out 3 days ago so I replaced it along with the fuel filter. The car will start great and idel but if you easily press the gas it dies or Boggs down but if u press it wide open it will rev up but is rough. And sometimes when it idles it will idel up and down up and down so today I I backed it out and tryed to drive it but as soon as I left off the clutch it starts to jerk and bogg out and won't rev up and go. I have done a compression test and it was 150 all the way across. I have checked to see if it gettin gas and there's plenty of fuel pressure I have tried the tps and map sensor. It's gettin spark but the plugs are fooled. There black dry crap on em. I cleaned em up and put em back it but after I cranked the car and let it run trying to figure this crap out the we're black again today. So I pulled off the cat but it not clogged. I can't figure it out any help will be great thanks

 

Is the black stuff like soot?

What pump did you put in and how much fuel do you have in the tank?
Common problem is use of a Walbro pump and using the wrong sock for it. Anything under 1/4 tank creates problems.

 

Yea it's soot and the brand was oreilys I guess its called besttest.

 

I used the old sock tht in there

 

**** I just looked up what the strainer was it wasn't what I was thinking. No I didn't even use a strainer on it but my old fuel pump didn't have one when I pulled it out
