Hi to all im new here have had a look through the other posts about grinding noise but none r like what i have. The noise sounds like its coming from the drivers side it sounds like the breaks are sticking on and would feel like the front breaks are sticking. But as you drive the car and everything warms up the noise would dissapear or if you put the clutch in the noise would dissapear. When this started it would last about 30 seconds of driving but has been getting worse. Now a month later and after replacing the front rotors and break pads the noise last for about 15mins of driving and if you put the clutch in the noise is still there. I have had someone tell me its the thrust bearing in the clutch. I have had a good look underneath and thoughout the engine bay and can not see anything wrong or out of place.

Can anybody please help me on this as i was quoted $1800 to replace the thrust bearing in the clutch due to the pain in the bum getting the engine out to get to the clutch.

Does it make the grinding noise when in neutral?

Thanks go-parts

at the start when it was in neutral or clutch was in the noise would dissapear but now the noise is there when the clutch is in or in neutral. Also the noise is only when the car is in motion driving forward or reverse. when the car is stationary the noise is not there.
