Default Need help making a decision

I have a 89 CRX Si and it needs a new gas tank, Exhaust manifold and left upper A-arm. Unfortunately I'm just new to the whole CRX thing and I have a chance to by a 87 CRX Si that I was thinking I might be able to use for parts. It is going to cost about the same for the new parts as it is for what I can get this 87 at. Is it worth picking up this vehicle for parts? I know some parts are not interchangeable but are most? I was thinking of striping it down and selling off the parts I won't need.
Thanks in advance

87 (well 84-87) crxs are not compatable with the 88-91 crxs. Very few if any parts will be interchangable. The front suspension is completley different, the gas tanks are different. So, unless you just want to buy the 87 and sell it for parts or fix it up, I wouldn't bother with it. Just buy the new stuff, or ask on the classifieds...lot's of people have parts cars and can probably help you out with some of the easily shipable stuff.
Good luck
