Track results from last night...
I was running my Turbo B16a 91 Si last night tuned for the first time. Only problem was that I was on some 14" steelies with some SHITASS maypops.
Camber is BAD, Alignment is worse, and my wheelhop was out of this world...
I managed to pull off a 2.4ish 60', and the car felt really good, tearing through second gear with a quickness, started to wheelhop somewhat at the top of second from lack of traction. Grabbed third with a healthy chirp, and layed on it. Car pulled nicely. Top of third, and the shift into fourth, the car felt down on power, and I went through the traps and slowed to the circle to get my timeslip.
13.8 @ 102.8 MPH
Not too shabby
Too much boost for the result, but I was happy to go a full second faster than my previous best.
-- == Future Plans == --
Next up, MAD suspension work, including a new "heavy duty" rear motor mount (borrowed drag radials, and my Hasports didn't like it too much), Z-10 style bars by a local fabrication shop, a camber kit setup for maximum grip, a set of Tokiko Illumina's for the front of my car, and some good sticky tires.
Turbo seals are gizzone, too. Pulled back around and the car is puffing pretty heavy at idle. Noticed some smoke from underhood. The Downpipe cracked pretty hardcore.
Welp, it runs, but has an exhaust leak. Oh well. I'll get the turbo rebuilt with the larger 4 bolt flaged turbine housing, and build a new downpipe when I get this all fabbed up. Thinking about a Tial wastegate with a 90 degree adapter to allow for a smoother closed loop wastegate system.
I'll chase out all these damn gremlins one day, I hope.

Turbo B16a with ALOT of issues running nearly 103 in the 1/4.
I wasn't too happy, but it was typical for my luck.
I was at 12-14 PSI that night. It was tuned for that, but the engine was already weak, and I think some of the oil smoke causes enough heat to mess up how it was running. I'll fix it.

Got it running a month and a half ago... Put it on the dyno last Saturday, and took it to the track that following tuesday...
Broke the rear motor mount, wheelhopped my downpipe to death, and the turbo is eating oil like it has been since I broke it 9 months ago... Oh well, at least I can still drive it.
If you aren't breaking anything, you're not pushing hard enough is my motto
Also, why did this get moved? This is an EF, so I posted it in the EF forum, where my friends that know me and my car would see it.

2.4 60 foot + 12-14 psi + B16 = 13.8 @ 102
You are not making horsepower. That sounds like about 200-220whp. What did you dyno at? Hell I have seen GSRs on 6psi go 104...I think your trap should be MUCH faster.
Dyno numbers please.

Good guess. It only made 232 at the wheels 3 days prior on the dyno, and Like I said, it felt like it fell on it face on the top o third, into fourth.
I think it fouled the plugs from running in boost with the oil smoke or something, cause on the dyno fuel was 11.8-12.2 from 3500 to 8500 rpm.
That's what I get for having a messed up turbo, and a Home made downpipe. I'll do better with my next setup here in a few months, but it's fun to flog anyway

keep working on it sirkid, i dunno whats up with the ef forum these days. all i seem to see is post on how to fix a messed b16swap or what jdm part is hot these days. oh well, its good to hear your car is up and running.
Ok, we did some research tonight. The turbo is apparently pumping all kinds of oil into the exhaust, but the intake tract is CLEAN, and clear of any leaking oil from the turbo seals.
We double checked the gap on the plugs. The plugs were gapped at .040 according to a Snap on plug gap reader. The AutoZone (CRAP) gap reader showed .030 when we measured at the same time. DOH!
Anyway, apparently because of the bad seals on the turbo, the car is struggling to hit 15 PSI, in fact anything over 8 seems to SLOW the car down. I guess the thrust bearings are taking a beating from the leakage as well or something. Turbo rebuild/new turbo is in order.
The downpipe is still FUBAR. it's cracked about 1/3 of the way around up against the block. I'll probably pull it and have it welded up just for a "for now" fix. I'm going to have a local fabricator make me a nice 3" downpipe, and a muffled undercar wastegate dump once I get the 4 bolt flanged exhaust housing on the new turbo.
Now to find some money I forgot about... OH YEAH, there isn't any!
