I just bought my first Honda and i need advice. I bought a 93 civic dx without a power steering pump or reservoir. i will be pulling this part from a junk yard civic, and installing it in mine. I'd like a walk-through or a link to a walk-through or video from someone who has done this before if possible, thanks and i appreciate any advice on how to make my used car ride like-new.

 

are you trying to convert from non p/s to a civic with p/s? if thats the case your going to need alot more then just a pump and resevoir.... your p/s rack is a manual one and you would need to replace that, along with the high pressure and return lines.. honestly i don't think its worth it, your talking lots of money and or alot of work at a junkyard including lots of parts....

 

not only what oldschool said plus I don't think that the power rack is a direct bolt on replacement for a manual rack

if your car came w/o power steering make sure you grab the whole steering rack while you're at the junkyard, I've seen DIY p/s rack converted to manual rack writeups, but I don't think it works the other way around.
