Are the two even comparable, if so which is best?

 

CL with a h22 swap is a good combo..

stock cl vs a stock prelude...prelude wins my vote

 

If you are getting a acura cl, get the 2003 with the 6mt, as any of the other ones are not so good, especially if they are pre 2001.

In 2001 the cl came with a 3.2 liter v6 and also came in type s trim in 2003. These cls are much better than a prelude, although, if it were me i would buy both and then swap the cl power plant into the prelude.

im looking at the 5g prelude and the 3.2L v6 CL

 

Ok what year is that v6 cl? If it is 2001 and comes with auto, skip it unless you are getting really really good deal. The j sereisd v6 automatics have been plagued with cooling issues, it may be a good trans or it may not be a good trans, very sketchy waters with the autos. If its a 2003 with manbul 6 speed, buy it as those are funner to drive than almost any other honda out there(stock to stock anyway). very fun cars, but they are fugly as a fat girl with braces, red hair and acne...

 

prelude then. i was thinkin about the 2.2cl or 2.3cl those are great cars especially with a h swap

 

J32 CL 6MT will give you good torque for getting around town and gearing for decent highway. H22 will give you revs, H23 non vtec will have decent torque for having fun driving. The CL has class and if I had more money to just have a nice dd that would be my choice.
