Crashed '06 Civic coupe - estimate please?
A friend of mine got into an accident at an intersection where another car swerved into her lane while she stop at the light and hit her Civic coupe head on. The airbag did not deploy and it appears from the picture, it's around 20-25mph damage. Notice that her car got pushed to the median at an angle and the impact zone right in the center, outside of the 2 airbag sensor zones on the 2 corners of the bumper.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on how much the damage would cost from the attached picture, that is, to fix on myself? It appears to be less than the $6000-7000 that was quoted price from a body shop.

Hard to tell but you're not looking at a cheap fix. At the minimum, you're going to need a hood, both headlights, front bumper cover, impact beam, rad support, rad, fans, condenser, and fenders. The fronts of these cars tweaks easily, so I'm willing to bet the frame is bent too, considering the impact was at an angle.
Providing you can weld to change the support and impact beam, and you don't care about paint, if the frame is straight you're prob still looking at $1500-$2000 in parts at a junkyard.

Thanks 98ekb18c..
I estimated up to the same amount as you did with all genuine parts from ebay and junkyards. With a paint job for the hood and bumper, and a possible frame pull, added up to $2500, that is with $500 extra in case some other parts and labor needed in the process.

with it being a 2010, they can use aftermarket parts to do the repairs as long as the fitment is good. if the fenders were pushed back into the door on either side, they will need to do minor repair and blend the door(s). that alone can add $500 by itself. you could be around the 4k mark. Keep in mind the body shop writes for what they think is wrong, the insurance company writes for what they can see is wrong.
