Default 1993 Del Sol SI transmission info, please

Hi.

Just joined the forum and very interested to learn more about Del Sol.
I have a 1993 SI, 5 speed.
Wonder what type of engine and transmission it has?
I saw people saying rebuilt transmission, swap engine.
Mine had 170000 miles already. Maybe a good idea search and do some work later. What type of engine and tranny would be good?

BTW, what type of transmission fluid should I use? I saw people saying engine oil, honda mtf or gm? little confused here.

Thanks!

The transmission should be an S20, B000 "big bearing" 5 speed manual with 40mm diff bearings. It is relatively speaking a close ratio transmission.

Plain old cheap 10W30 works fine, Honda tends to lead to premature bearing failure due to being so thin. If you plan to run it harder Torco MTF is good too.
