wtf is wrong with my car?

when my car idles for about 3 minutes. the temp guage starts to move to the halfway point. then if i idle any longer, it goes beyond the halfway point.

when i start driving, the temp slowly goes back to normal.


is it the fan? or somthing else.

 

Possibly the fan, also check the thermostat to make sure its not sticking. Could also be water pump going bad, how many miles on car?

 

might wanna check your coolant level also

 

Had the same problem as you. Changed the thermostat, thermoswitch, and flushed coolant and everything is as good as new. Under normal temps, my needle stays 3-4 notches below halfway.

 

happened to me when i was boosting, but now that i dont boost nay more it's fine, i think my fmic had alot to do with it.

 

what the heck is a thermoswitch?


i already flushed my coolant, and it didnt do anything.


my thermostat was replaced like 5 month ago. and after that, the temp went up by about 1cm.

maybe because the guy who replced it used an autozone thermostat. i dont know.

so, the only thing left is my waterpump.


i have a modine all metal radiator. i also never see my fan go on. so imma take it to the shop and see whats up. i guess.
