Which of these bolt up to the factory exhaust? I almost always hear that the 96-97 GSR exhaust is "short" and i'll need "custom piping" to make it fit. Surely someone has made a drop in replacement?

 

there is NOTHING special about the 96-97 gsr model i don't know who told you that...94-99 are All the same there is however a slight difference with the 00-01 hanger placemeant afaik.

The 94-99 GSR had a shorter header... DC Sports even offers 2 different 4-2-1 One Piece. One for the 94-99 GSR (seen below)

If they are different lengths... then something must be done to the 94-99 GSR setup when using a "normal" B-series header that fits every other B series (since the normal B Series headers are the same length as the 00-01 GSR and all Type R's and too long for the 94-99).
