I think that is what the battery sits above. Anyways, I spilled some battery acid on it and burned a hole in the top of it along with melting one of the hoses that connects to the top of the canister. How bad is this?

Good thing we got that weak *** ***** system that dumped **** snow, so it could dirty up my clean car. Glad it was now and not on Sunday. And I'm not quite ready yet. I just overnighted some Eibach custom 400f/350r springs. So I think they will be here tomorrow or the next day. And I also went to Kingmotorsports and got overnighted some front and rear strut bars. Then I went to comptech and got me that rear lower tie bar. So hopefully these will all be installed by Sunday....???

BTW just duck tape everyhting back to how it suppose to be and you'll be fine for the inspection on Sunday. Just my .02. And I think that's all it's worth.

What? You ordered more stuff for the car? You, sir are one crazy SOB. What were the rates of the stock Groundcontrols? Don't tell me that you ordered Mugen front and rear bars? If you did, can I have your old GSR bar?

 

There are vapors in the gas tank that build up, and are purged into the canister, which then are routed into the intake manifold for complete burn in the motor. Just emissions bullshti, and doesn't affect performance.

 

Dumb question, but if the hose is just chillin in the engine bay not connected to the canister, will the vapors possibaly ignite?

You're probably going to smell gasoline fumes if you just leave it open. If you plug it your purge solinoid cannot purge, eventually causing your tank pressure sensor to trip and throw a cel.

 

Yeah, it's just for reducing gasolene fumes. I don't know for sure about the danger of venting the fumes into the engine bay though, but I would speculate that it's pretty well ventilated. If I were you, I'd just put some duct tape over the hole and somehow try to reconnect the hose.

Man, Dr. RAB01GSR is really running up that credit card. Hope you get your stuff in time. Good luck at the autocross this weekend, I wish I could be there.
