Icon6 ODD CLUSTER ISSUES ***NEED HELP***

I RECENTLY SWAPPED MY 1996 INTEGRA WITH A 2001 GSR MOTOR, I USED THE ORIGINAL HARNESS THAT CAME WITH THE MOTOR, HOWEVER WHEN I STARTED THE CAR MY MPH IS ACTING/MOVING LIKE MY RPM AND MY RPMS ARE NOT MOVING AT ALL. THE CAR IS SITTING WITHOUT AXELS OR A SHIFTLINKAGE AT THE MOMENT, I DONT WANT TO GO ANY FURTHER UNTIL I FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG WITH THE CLUSTER, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE TRANNY WAS IN GEAR WHEN THE LINKAGE WAS REMOVED AND NOW THE CAR IS IN GEAR WHEN IT STARTS CAUSING THE MPH TO HAVE AN RPM EFFECT??????? THIS PROBLEM IS A 1ST FOR ME, ANYONE INFO/ADVISE WOULD HELP. THANKS

You should've used the harness that came with your car (a 96) Not sure exactly how much of a difference it makes, but 2001 was OBD2b and your car is OBD2a

I am guessing your in gear, why not just connect up the shift linkage and see, it needs to be installed at some point anyway.

As for the tach not moving, that may be because of harness, test for tack signal on blue lead at distributor assembly, set multimeter to A/C volts, one probe to chassis ground, the other to blue lead.

The problem may also be grounding to the cluster, check cluster ground(s)94

IIRC, in 2000, certain model integras, or all integras received tach signal through other means. not from the igniter. i think. i do remember there being an issue somewhere along those lines. have heard problems with people running a 2000 ecm in a pre-00 car and not having tach.
i know in 2000 they changed something in regards to the tach signal.

which ecm are you using?

the mph jumping actually happened to be the tranny being in gear, shift linkage installed and my mph is fine, however still no rpm, ive done a ton of reading and apprently using obd2b engine harness in a obd2a car will cause this problem, ive recieved so many diff opinions on the rpms and my harness that its confusing the hell out of me, i hate to rig sh*t especially when it comes to the harness but does anyone know how i can do this without effecting anything else and a simple clean way if possible. btw im using a chipped p28 with a stepdown harness, obd2b engine harness with a obd2a car, sounds like a mess but the swap was an 01 gsr and i bought a clean 96 integra shell. comp came out of another set up i had in an ek.

Have you tested the blue lead at the distributor yet? 94
