Default CRX - reshaping quarter panel, any tips ?

I filled some of my quarter panel with body filler due to dent and rust-repair, and now I need to reshape this quarter panel back to factory curve. Can't use a block to sand because panel is not straight, it has a curve in it before ending at the wheel-well.
How do I go about reshaping my quarter panel? Manual labor with sandpaper in hand and frequently checking for straightness? Any tips?

block is the only way to do this, then mud on top... There are two was to do this hammer and dollies or stud gun and something to pull with. Try and and pull as flat as possible and then mud, mudd shouldnt be deeper then 1/8 deep.
