Ok everyone here is my issue..I have a 94 civic ex that has a 11.9 gallon tank..the other day the fuel gauge said empty so I stopped to fill up but it only let me put in 9.6 gallons what could be the problem...sending unit or floater

 

Normal. Just because it says it's empty doesn't mean it actually is. It's truly empty when your car don't go no more.

 

Maybe if you run out of gas and try it you'll come close to that mark. Lol
