I don't know about 5th gens, but every other car that I've changed bulbs on are easy.
Just get your hand behind the light, twist the plug that the wires go into, and out pops the bulb and plug.
Don't unscrew your headlights, because then you'll need to reaim the light beam.

yeah man, for my 4th gen all i did was un-screwed the white part, it pops right out, take out the old bulb, and make sure u don't touch ur new bulb !!!! because the oil in ur hand will make it blow up after a while and then u gotta take apart the light system **** to get all the glass out, and u definetly don't wanna do that !!!!!
The answer is - you need a pair of rubber gloves to keep the fingers off the glass. A clean cloth works too-but those throw away gloves are great for this. That is the only tool you will use on a 5th gen.
There is a you will want to take the connector off the back of the housing and you will find a paperclip shaped spring that holds the bulb in -release that and the bulb will drop out. Reverse the process keeping your hands clean at all times. The cover ring has small holes in it-make sure they face down. You should get them reaimed to make sure the pattern is hitting the road correctly.
Finally-I take no responsibility for this project and urge that you NOT use a bulb rated higher than 55 watts. There are 55 watt bulbs that will look like 100 watt and they are fine. The wiring on a 5th gen simply does not like anything much higher.
Happy Luding.
