Default Review my setup/s...

okay details 97 civic ex 5spd, this is what i have feel free to comment or anything of that nature...greddy turbo kit, greddy type 31 intercooler, greddy type-s bov, apexi v-afc, apexi avc-r, greddy evo system, apexi turbo timer, heres the thing i have a vortech FMU i got for free from a friend. should i just go and get a cheep missing link that someones selling for $30 and be done with my fuel? my goals to run 7-8 high boost 5-6 daily...and i have either 310cc or 390cc dsm injectors (not sure) and run the hack? i guess im shot in what direction to go with in the fuel management dept...i can do either route. would my injectors be too small for the hack? better than the 240cc stock, ill leave this open for discussion...

I believe if u use your v-afc, you don't need your fmu anymore and you don't even need the missing link either. I would sell it on ebay, you can get at least $50 for it. About your injectors, I would do 440cc or 450cc. 370cc is the lowest I would recommand with your fuel setup with hack. Also make sure to run INTANK fuel pump. I am selling a BRAND NEW one for $70 on ebay. Check it out:

You can use your V-AFC, dsm 450's, and a 255 pump. Lightningmotorsports.com has good deals on the pumps right now. Then you can sell the FMU and the missing link.

i personally don't trust the vafc hack, i've had three friends do it and only 1 of thier cars works at any given time and it's always fuel related. I went with the fmu setup on my d16 turbo setup. vortech fmu 12:1 disk, 440cc injectors, missing link, vafc, and 255lph fuel pump. Made nice power and i pushed 8psi daily. On my new setup with a gsr block, i'm still using the fmu setup and should see close to 400hp to the wheels. Now before anybody goes and says why do a full build without doing the fuel setup, i'm in the process of geting a haltech system. But the FMU setup works fine and since you only want 8psi for the track, it will supply you with the correct amount of fuel.

i don't know, they are all very knowledgeable when it come to cars. They all had the fmu setup before and never had a problem but thought the hack would be a simple alternative. I still have the fmu, cause why fix something that ain't broke.

The hack should work, do they have adjustable fpr? The stock just wont cut it if you are using too big of an injector.

they have everything the way it should be. I'm not sure all that goes into the hack, i don't personally use it. I dont' know what it is, but i know for some it works, but 3 guys and only 1 car works on average, i just don't trust it. I'm not knocking it, it's a great idea. I just think the fmu setup since he already has pieces of it, is just as good or better.
