How long after repaint job can i do rust proofing?
Im getting my hood repainted .. how long should i wait before i can get rusporoofing ? or will it not matter ? Sorry if its a stupid question ..
IIRC, rust proofing shouldve been done b4 the painting.
typically you get rid of the rust (by sanding, sandblasting or something) then spray the bare metal with a rust inhibitor, or cover it with a self etching primer, or epoxy primer before you lay base and clear.
in a case with your hood, the epoxy or self etching primer is the "rust proofing"
if it was like the underside of the car, u usually will spray an undercoat such as a bedliner or sound deadner.
does that answer your questions?

I believe the OP is talking about oil based rust proofing (Krown, Rust Check, etc), you spray inside the engine bay, the underside of the hood, inside the doors, etc with an oily substance to keep rust from forming.
