im having some weird problems with my 98 civic LX. I dont know if my security alarm is aftermarket or by honda but the problem is that the remote works and the car beeps (lock/unlock) but NON of the door locks unlock nor lock.

and weird part is my driver side door lock is stuck on the "unlock" position. pressing down on it wont work. so my car is stuck open. however other doors i can lock manually.

searched around and found no solution so far. can anyone help? THanks!

what do you mean by door "open"?

 

If the door is physically open then you won't be able to lock it. It's a failsafe to prevent you from accidentally locking your keys in the car.

 

no the door is not open when i do this. i should also mention that the door lock/unlock button at the driver side doesnt work either.

 

so a little update on the problem. i went to a audio/security shop and have them check the alarm and he said that the problem wasnt the alarm itself but that it could be the locking assembly (cant remember the exact term he used). so right now im stuck on not knowing how to fix the problem or where to get it fixed.

can someone help?

 

I just had the same problem with my 09 Civic. I didn't drive the car all weekend and I get in to go to work this morning and the doors are locked & the remote won't open them. The window was down, so I stuck my key in the ignition & the alarm starts going off while the alarm goes off & I cannot get the alarm to stop until i take the battery cable off
