Default Auto Body

This Sunday i was backing up from a parking lot when some suv hit me from the back. only damage is some dent on my car and a broken spoilers. I took it to a body shop and told me $800 to get a new trunk lid and paint. but i was wondering if i can just take away the dents for a cheaper price.

sorry if i posted this at the wrong location.

Wow, sorry this happened dude. From what I've seen and personally worked on, you could try to push most of the dent out from the inside, if you can get to that part of the lid from inside, but from what I see, the crease is buckled and even if you got most of the dent out by pushing from inside the lid or drilling and popping, you will need bondo and lots of body work..bondo, sand(lots), prime, sand, paint, sand, clear, sand..lots of work..how about a junkyard? Here in NC, I have found several nearby junkyards and have luckily found my color..Just look around, you should definitely be able to find a used trunk lid for less than the $800 the bodyshop wants for a new one, maybe ebay too, I've seen stranger things on there.

Take everything out of the trunk lid. Take it off too. Lay it on some saw horses and start banging the dents out. What doesnt come out if it is small enough use bondo. If you can stick something where the honda logo went and start pulling. with the trunk on the car of course.

i tried to put the spoilers back on but i just need to add super glue, was thinking gorilla glue.

for dent i might need to get a piece of wood and put it inside and push so i can get most of the dent out.

You're not going to be able to do PDR with that...

Just buy a new trunklid from a parts yard. You can use carparts.com to search local - going to be way cheaper. I'd expect ~$100 for the trunklid and maybe $400 for paint.
