Jdm F22b DOHC Head on F22a Engine
Hey ya'll. I was wondering if putting the F22B jdm DOHC cylinder head would be a worthwhile swap to do on my 91 accord. They're the exact same size engines and I think it should give me some more get up.
Parts wouldn't be a problem either cause I know of many junked H23's preludes in my area with parts for the low low. There's an ECU for sale on ebay too... Thing is, I am having a hard time finding the cylinder head.
Has anyone done this or heard of people doing this?
Thanks.

I did research it but only one person said it made better power. I need dyno graphs and better proof of it. Closest I came was this,
That was only from one person though, I need more people to tell me if this is a good idea.
Another reason I made this was to ask if anyone knew where to find the head at.
"This swap definately makes more power than the f22a6 with bolt ons. It is very close to the f22b, maybe makes less power due to less compression im guessing."

Is it a good idea? Thing is its harder than a **** to find them. Seems like a brilliant idea though. You could have the head milled to bump the compression to 9:3:1 and run the JDM ecu and have 30 or 40 more hp right there. Nobody ever posted any dyno graphs though, I looked everywhere.
Who wouldn't want to do that to their F22a, DOHC sounds awesome.

A guy on ebay has a F22b DOHC engine for sale for about $300 (with $125 shipping). He said its got bent valves though. I really only want the cylinder head. Do you think its worth buying entire engine with the bent valves for $425?
Banned from CB7tuner again eh!
I imagine that it might be harder to find someone more tolerant of your ignorance and unwillingness to listen on here.
I wish you the best of luck finding someone to spoon feed you.

I am making this thread to find out if this really is a good idea. I searched and seached but I only heard from 1 or 2 people on the CB7tuner forum say this made their car perform better but they never gave any videos or had it dyno'd to prove it. Everyone was saying "where are the dyno graphs?" but they never were given. Probably another reason why people don't do this swap often, other than the fact that F22B DOHC heads are rare.

What I mean is that go for it if thats what you really want to do with your engine. As for head studs, are you talking about getting aftermarket such as ARP? or just doing stock replacement? I would do stock replacement as it's not needed; unless, you're going turbo or something.
It takes a lot of time to do this swap doesn't it? I can't do it if it takes more than a week. Seems like a pain in the *** to do though, gonna need an engine crane to support the engine with the transmission off, its gonna suck.
How difficult is this job? Personally I am a beginner but have already successfully completed an engine overhaul basically by myself...was a LOT of hard work though. 5 speed swaps seem complicated though and alien to me. I'm afraid that I'll get stuck somewhere.
Which guides do you recommend?
I found 2, the one with pictures is far mor valuable to me,

I heard that the head is the same but the bore is 2 mm bigger in the H23. You wouldn't want to put an H23 head on an F22a block either.
