Default power steering question on CRV 2008

Hi, I went for an oil change and was told that there is sweating on the power steering rack and the rack has to be changed ASAP. Didn't see any leaks under the car and no fluid loss reported. This is a pricy item, so I was wondering on what to do and how argent is this issue?
The dealer told me about this problem when the car was off the lift, I didn't get to see anything for my own.
The car has 30K on it and is in mint shape.

Default Re: power steering question on CRV 2008

Until the fluid level starts dropping I see no reason to spend big bucks on a new rack, it could stay that way for ever. Sounds like it is not that uncommon, so until fluid levels drop or you hear noise or the steering gets heavy no reason to replace.

And if you are planning to replace it anyway, why not wait until it brakes all the way and save some money for now
