bluetooth in CRV not working
I have a 2010 CRV ex-l with bluetooth and I have an iphone and my husband has an ipod. He has used and played music through the bluetooth with his ipod, but i cannot play my music from my iphone. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was told that honda does not support the iphone and also told that apple doesn't support honda.
First, make sure that your new iPhone does not have the same name as your old phone. If, like me, you used an iTunes backup to restore your settings, it would have changed the name on the new phone to match the old one. Change it to something else. I'm not sure if this actually matters or not, but I did it.
Second, on your phone, go into the Bluetooth settings, go into the device for the vehicle, and hit "Forget this device" so that your phone doesn't have any connection to your car.
Next, don't go through to manual pairing process by hitting the Menu button and pairing the phone. Hit your hands-free button, and go through the menus to find the Setup / Initialize section. This will wipe out any hands-free settings you've got, including your phonebook (in the car, the contacts on your phone will be fine.) Once that's done, it will prompt you to pair the phone. From here, I'm sure you know what you're doing, because like me, you've probably done it 50 times to get this fixed.
Once it's properly paired, turn the car off, let it sit for a minute, and turn it back on. Presto! Automatic connection to your phone.
Like I said, this worked for me with my car. The settings for other cars and other head units may be different, or you may not have the hands-free package that lets you do this. I hope this helps a few of you, and hopefully it stays fixed for me

Press and hold the hang up/end button on the steering wheel for about 7-10sec. The HFL will do a self check. If you do not hear "the hands free is ok" then you most likely need a new blue tooth box.
