88 Accord Lx-I Engine swap
I've got a non-vtec 88 accord lx-i. I've also got a Civic del sol engine and a Si-R engine...I was wondering if anyone knew if these could fit in my car? How hard would the wiring harness be to swap out? What all would I need to do for this swap? Thanks for the help.
From my understanding only a B16A SiR-1 engine will work with the place racing boltin kit. I would call them (their webpage has been 'under construction' for like ... 4 months or more) and see what the deal is. Its also my understanding this swap is only in a coupe or sedan as the hatchback was different mount wise.. i cant confirm or deny that though.
The short answer to your question is YES. There is a H-T member (sorry i cant remember his name right now) who has done this to his 3rd Gen LX-i Sedan.

True, but there is no mount kit for the H22 yet that i know of.
My swap however was also a custom job of welding and so on back on 98. PlaceRacing did not have the mount kit that they do today. If you cruise my site under "new engine" page, you will find all the info on place racing mounts, wire harness modification, axles, shift linkage mod and a few more things that can be done such as a bracket to keep your existing AC compressor and more!
Anyhow, hope this helps
