new to forum and hondas
Hi
like it says im new to working on honda's. im not new to cars though. I work in a body shop and primarily work on restorations. I decided to pick up this civic as a project car. I like to work on anything and everything and wanted to build myself a new daily driver. And i consider myself a car enthusiast and try not to be biased so i needed to dip my hands in the japanese waters
The car:
It is a 2000 civic Si. Electric blue. It was a theft recovery car so everything was stripped. Whole front clip, engine, trans, everything from the dash, seats, deck lid. So i planned on rebuilding this car from the ground up. In the process i planned on doing and engine swap too so i can get the whole go around on a honda. Ive googled a lot in the process and all the good info always comes from this site so i figured i should go ahead and get involved more and make a profile.

i was thankful for the fact that whoever stole it, knew what they were doing and everything was unplugged and unbolted correctly, nothing was cut or hacked off. So it has made it easier to piece back together.
$500 for how it was there. The guy i bought it from just happened to have a 99 si. same blue and everything but it had a junk title. so i paid him another $250 for seats, interior panels, all the dash stuff minus airbag and gauge cluster, fenders, both bumpers and decklid with spoiler. so $750 for just about a full roller. not bad really. one tiny spot of rust starting to bubble and a few minor dings. otherwise body is in great condition
and it is sad it got stolen. the guy who had it previously only had it for 3 months before it was stolen.

Hello all,
I am a newbee to forums after acquiring a 91 honda CRX 1.5 DX and needed a place to go for info on these really cool cars ..Honda-Tech appears to be the place to go..when i first saw these CRX in the 80"s and 90"s I can honestly say that I always wanted one. now I have one and love the gas milage as mine has delivered 40-42 mpg on the highway on a regular basis....I am not new to cars as I have worked and tinkered around with cars all my life...I have worked around mostly muscles cars as i did did own a 69 Yenko clone camaro 427 cid ground pounding son of a gun....had to sell due to hard times in 2008. From Muscle cars to Nopi cars is quite a shift.
Now about my 91 CRX DX... I have recently purchased a moonroof from an 91 CRX si ....I have picked up a glass panel as the original panel did not come with it and thought a glass moonroof would be really cool.....don't know I may be in for more trouble that it is worth but have some really talented friends with skills so think we can work something out....However I am open to suggestions thats why I am here....having difficulty finding a seal for the glass and I be leave that I will have to fabricate some fiberglass brackets to attached the glass to the slides on the carriage assembly...is there an earlier model honda with a seal that might be compatible.....Additionally I have power windows, mirrors and door locks to install....let fun begin........ .
