the tein ss's are ordered..anyone have them here?
So i ordered the tein ss today and just wondering if anyone has them on their lude, and what settings you have the dampers on...and if anyone can compare the difference between the ha and ss...if you have had any experience with the ha at a certain setting, comparing it to the setting of what it would be for the ss?? thanks!
I can't believe no one has the tein ss?? c'mon, someone here has to have them, and felt the diff, between the ha and these!! At least let me know what settings u have them on, how u drive, and how it feels! thanks
i got the tein SS on my ride. hmm i dunno how diff it feels from the HA's but i know it's pretty smooth and comfy. It getz a lil bouncy if you slam it. i got mines at 10 front and 12 rear. but after you get them installed, set them to 8 front and rear so the springz can settle. it's definitely worth the money. you will be satisfied.
thanks man! did u install them yourself? If so, and ya got any tips that might come in handy, that would be cool, if not thanks for you feedback!
What's the difference from the HA's and the SS's? I am planning on getting one or the other for my 97.
It has the same construction but the HA has a helper spring, different valving, and spring rate is higher!

How much did you pay? Does the set come with pillow ball mounts?
PS From what I heard the HAs are ALOT stiffer.

oh yeah they also come with a key to adjust the setting, but i usually do it with my hand. and make sure you don't damage your strut by adjusting past 16 clicks (soft or hard). don't force it. peace
nope, i had a shop install em for me. they should come with instructions, perches and stickers. my tip is just set them to 8 front and rear after you install them. the factory sets them at 16 (stiffest), hmm clockwise to make more stiffer and counter clockwise to soften. I suggest you let a shop install them unless you got the proper tools and a lift. good luck with em man.
I would get a shop to install them, but i feel good when i install my own ****, and i have enough tools to do it myself, i know i don't need a lift, i got a jack that goes up 22" so it's all good, but thanks for your feedback!
Nice. Does anyone here know how that would compare to a set of GCs with Koni yellows? Probably not much of a difference, right?

Nothing beats a true coilover...koni and GC is still a good setup, but can't beat tein though, don't know for sure yet, but i will soon!
There is a couple exceptions...like the so called performance full coilovers made my APC and several others!!
I have the Tein SS coilovers, but am not very satisfied with their performance. The car handles great, and sits low enough, but it is too bouncy. I guess thats what you have to sacrifice for good handling

the Tein SS only getz a bit bouncy when you slam your ride. it's comfy when you have it at the right height. i slammed my ride right after i installed my Teins, i kept on scraping so i raised it a little. it's more comfy like that. i know slammin your ride looks good and all but i think it affects too much toe. i would only slam my ride if i'm at a show or somethin. Sorry to bug ya man, but if you could, it would be awsome if you could post some pics of your ride how it is right now, from the side view, and let me know approx. how many threads you have showing on the bottom of the coilover, for each side or just general! I don't know if you corner weighted them! Thanks again!

front: .6 inches of thread left
rear: 1.3 inches of thread left
the pic of the tein is the front left, the front is a lil more lower than in the pic. i adjusted it a lil cuz the front (as you can see in the pic) was a lil higher than the back so i had to adjust it.
what do you mean by corner weighted them?

Thanks alot man, looks tight! By corner weighing i mean adjusting the ride heights to have as close as possible weight on each corner...that's what the ride height adjust is really for...how you get the best handling!
I don't think alot of people know that, they just think it's for raising it in the winter and lowering it in the summer!
