eibach pro-kit springs????
i checked out the eibach pro-kit springs and they only give about 1.2 inch drop and 1.0 in the rear. Im looking for something to cover the whole gap or almost the whole gap. I still want a ride that will handle really good. KNow any suggestions????
there is a difference between a comfortable ride and handling. the eibach kit rides smoothly, but few serious road racers if any use them. as for closing the whole wheelwell gap, my guess is you have a stock motor, if you had a B16 you would be concerned with your header getting continually smashed. i suggest getting a set of springs and struts that are meant for racing/ harsh autocrossing, as you will eventually appreciate handling over having the most slammed car on the street.
It is your call but I like Skunk2 sleeves, Eibach ERS springs and Koni "yellow" shocks. Some others will suggest the Ground Control sleeves and they too are very good. The real issue is spring rates. Our car is being set up to race only so the springs are 2.5" diameter by 7" tall and rated at 400 in front and 500 rear. Skunk sells this setup with the positions reversed-so you will want to start out with the higher number up front.
The ride will be very stiff compared to street-progressive rate-springs. You can lower the car as much or little as you need with this type of setup but best to maintain a ride height of about 5" measured from the ground to the lowest point on the rocker panel-not the point where you jack up the car-plastic cover part.
That's how mine is done and it is fine for me. You might also want to invest in a sway bar such as the ADDCO #456 (available either direct or from Summit). It clears everything nicely and works. Other bars are available, but that is my choice.
Last thought here is the condition of the bushing on the rear lower control arms and trailing arms. We did the poly ones and it really works. While you are at it do the front sway bar bushings and end links.
Enjoy the ride

coilovers can be alright if you get good ones. i had cheap ones and they sucked. prokit springs are soft, ride beautiful...and my friend has em on his crx with 17's and a jdm b16 swap. no problems. when you are in the car, with those wheels on, maybe a finger gap for wheel gap, if that...if they aren't still enough get some adjustable shocks and turn em to the stiff point. if you are daily driving then get some nice comfortable springs. aunless you are doing all out auto crossing all day everyday don't waste your time or comfort.it gets real annoying after awhile....
