cooling fan not turning on
Hey ht,
I have a 95 accord ex with an f22b1. I bought it without a radiator fan but picked one up at pick n pull and installed it. It doesnt turn on unless i turn the ac on. Anyone have any ideas about hiw i could have mixed up the wiring? The thermostat was replaced but not the coolant temperature sensor. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The drivers side radiator fan should only turn on when AC is on.
As far as the passenger side main cooling fan read around for trouble shooting. They get messed up all the time.

For any 3rd, 4th, 5th gen Accord.
Anytime the car is on - BOTH FANS SHOULD RUN !
The only time "one fan" runs is when the key is off.
EDIT: just for anyone reading, on the 6th gen - same applies when the car is On.....not when off.
ikr. that is what i was thinking. my honda runs boths fans when on. and one with the car off.
Sorry but that is WRONG information.

Changed the ECT but some other tube snapped off. Not sure how to upload pictures to post it. First day on here. The black connector thing is located right in front of the ECT. Anybody know what part I'm talking about?

My point, in a stock set up, BOTH fans run when the car/engine/KO and thermo a is working properly. If you need a wire diagram and help let me know.
It the sane thing located in the picture in the forum link. The one with the red wire showing. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/91-accord-f22a1-no-bottem-end-power-2801657/
The metal pin broke off too. We replaced that. And with the new engine coolant temp sensor, radiator fan still does not turn on. Next I was going to replace the radiator fan switch and see if that's the winner. We know that coolant is running through the entire system because both radiator hoses are hot.

Here's a diagram of it,

Here is the part (fits my 91' accord),
Here's how to test it,
Step 1. Checking fan switch. Disconnect the radiator fan switch connector (a.k.a. thermoswitch, located downstream of the thermostat) and turn on the ignition, then jump (or short pins K and L ) on the harness (see figure 3.) Does the fan come on?
Yes.
-Coolant level low. (Only on cars with the fan switch not mounted on the bottom of the radiator.)
-Air not purge (go to step 4.)
-Thermostat stuck closed. Test the thermostat by boiling at Procedure 6.
-Thermister bad or giving false readings due to trapped air.
-Thermoswitch bad. Test the thermoswitch by boiling at Procedure 5.
-Water pump impeller missing caused by electrolysis. Open filler cap, water should flow with thermostat removed or when the engine is at operating temperature.
No. Check relay at step 2.
Using this illustration describe which part numbers you have replaced and where you bought them and part number plz
also is your car overheating ? it could just be it's not getting hot enough yet

did you properly bleed your car ? Is the thermostat jiggle valve facing the sky ?

Replaced number 16 and 19 on the diagram. After I replace 19 a bled and filled the coolant. When I replaced 16 no coolant spilled out but it was visible. I bought them both at autozone
