Selling the pair of my 2002 Si seats. Same exact seats as the UK Type R, so they're Recaro's also. Black suede (ALCANTARA) with red stitching, black and grey stitching in the middle of the seat, and the red O right behind the head. Fully reclinable, and VERY COMFORTABLE!!! 1 of the BEST seats available especially from a stock car. Seats are basically brand new with absolutely NO scratches, rips, tears, or any wear. Both passenger and driver seats are in MINT condition! You can't buy these seats from Honda, they only sell them in pieces, and if you buy all the pieces together, each seat comes out to almost $800 EACH! Selling both seats and JUST SEATS, no sliders or rails, for $1200+S&H OR $1200 picked up. If you need pics, just do a search for '02 Civic Si seats and you'll see what they look like. Just a side note...I had a pair of Sparco Torinos in my last car, and there's NO comparison. These are MUCH more comfortable and HUG you in the seat!

I was just wondering. Why are you charging people more if they're willing to pick up? I'm told that shipping cost ~$100 for pair of seats. Most people typically charge less for pick up because they don't have to go through trouble of packing them up.

It just sounds kind of fishy...

they can get JDM recaro seats for that much...
and these seats dont bolt onto most cars...

 

ive even seen some people sell these for 1300, but the cheapest ive seen is 1000. so maybe someone will buy it..

umm to my knowledge only the RSX(integra) Type-R's came with recaros? Don't the CTR's come with RSX(integra) seats but just in suede or whatever. i could be wrong...

 

they arent recaro...only the JDM Civic Type R comes with Recaros...the UK Civic Type R got the USDM Si seats with Type R embroidered on them.

 

I'll bet that 800 a seat includes the rails

 

I have seen these sell for 600.

You have to completely customize the rails to fit. The rear bolts face the wrong direction. These seats are also really heavy. Even without the airbags.

 

as for if they're Recaros or not...the Recaros from the JDM CTR cost $5000 for the pair. I never saw a Type R w/o Recaro seats, whether it be CTR, ITR, NSX-R. So, the UK Type R has the same exact seats as the US Si. Here's an excerpt from the Honda UK website: The large, heavily sculpted competition-style seats provide exceptional comfort and support. Cushioning is firm and the seats have additional bolsters at shoulder height locate occupants even during the most spirited cornering action.
The seat inserts are finished in suede effect material known as Alcantara ®.
I don't think Honda would make stock Alcantara seats. I know Recaro uses this fabric on their seats.

P.S- the rails ARE NOT included from Honda at the $800 price tag. $800 will only get you the seat pieces(lower and upper frames, and lower and upper covers)...i checked with Honda themselves

 

By asking same price shipped or picked up, I think it discourages pick up. Someone who's planning on ripping off another person would much rather ship because they never have to deal w/ people face-to-face.

I've never dealt w/ you, so I'm not passing judgment. I just thought it sounded strange, so I brought it up.

Yeah, tell me about it.. talk about stupid.. You want to charge more for pickup to make it "fair for everyone else?" LOL.. That my friend is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The idea is that you want a certain amount for them, and that you're simply just charging someone the shipping costs if they want it shipped. The person buying it locally from you is doing YOU a favor since you don't have to package them up and mail them out.

For anyone who might be interested.. definetly doesn't sound worth the $.. just buy yourself some sparcos or recaros for the $.

Ok, to answer a few questions:
the reason why I'm charging more for pick-up is so that it comes out to the same price as if I shipped it. i don't think it's fair that just because you live close to me, you should get a cut in the price and have other people pay more with shipping charges.

Thats stupid, there is a reason why its called shipping charges. Because the shipping company CHARGES. I dont think you should charge someone an extra 100 dollars for a service they dont get. As for thinking its fair... your charging someone a 100 dollars for your own profit because of a service they dont get. Thats not fair at all. Thats stupid and selfish.
Is it just me, or does anyone else think this is "fair" charging a 100 dollars for a service someone doesnt get and is yet, still charged for.
