1st gear thrust shim reuse with jdm fd?

I swap a jdm fd (4.785) in my usdm itr tranny... There is a thrust shim that sit at the bothom of the us countershaft under the 1st gear. Do I need to re-use it on the new jdm Counter shaft?
Cause right now the first gear touch the fd...

No you will not reuse the thrust shim. You will use the supplied distance collar. The clip on the top of the countershaft is going to raise that shaft when you close the case so that 1st gear will no longer be making contact with the FD.

Yesterday I read back the dangsr tutorial on this site and when I read "you'll hear the counter shaft drop" when spreading the c clip I tought I had my answer. But now you just cinfirm! Thanks!
