Got a question? Research it! Here's how to make it easier

This thread will go over a little on how to find useful information and what we expect of our members who join this community and have questions.
Everyone knows that ever since the switch to vBulletin, it has been a PITA to find the information you are looking for. We all know this, if you don't, you are being lazy
/So instead of crying about it and complaining about it, here are a few hints on how to get around the problems and help you acquire information easier.
First of all, always always always look through the section FAQ (frequently asked questions). Nearly every section will have one and these house the typical questions a lot of members have every day as well as in depth technical discussions, dyno charts, picture threads....etc. Please take the time to look for the answer there first. It is often quicker to find the answers there instead of making a post and having people tell you to search for 30 minutes until someone feels bad enough to give you a link or provide answers.
Now, with that being said, here is a way to learn general information from members you have seen continually produce good information. When I find someone like that, I will typically run a search for threads they have created, however, typically this kind of person (for me) typically does not create threads and will only give insight in threads created by other people. So you run a thread of posts they have made (choosing particular sections of interests help here). Read through some of the posts they make. If you find anything that strikes your attention, run a search on that topic using the criteria mentioned above. This is a great way to research information and explore different topics.
-- A different way altogether to bypass the vbulletin search is to use google
adding site:honda-tech.com TYPE YOUR KEYWORD HERE to the search criteria will search only honda-tech for the related search key words.
We are continually trying to come up with ways to help members find information on this huge website. I mean we have been around a long long time. Look at how many threads and posts we have. Thats a lot of information and your question has likely been discussed at least once. Our goal is to educate members and to have active discussions between knowledgeable, experienced members and other members who have attempted, themselves, to educate themselves prior to entering a discussion. Spoon feeding answers does not teach you anything and just because you know the answer, that does not mean you understand why or how.
Anyway,
Enjoy your stay, we look forward to being a part of it.
