Default 2002 civic lx Major Coolant leak!

A few months ago my wife's car started over heating on longer drives. I let the car sit all winter but last week when I started it up it started leaking coolant bad. I replaced the water pump thinking that was it after reassembling the car and filling up the radiator with water it started leaking again. It looks like it is leaking on the back side of the block above the oil filter.

Is this common at all? how do I fix it.
Thanks James

It makes me think that there's either a freeze plug missing, if its just gushing out.

Bump. I think the leak is coming from the water pipe leading into the water pump. Any idea how to remove the pipe? this is not my motor but it shows were the leak is in the red circle.

i personally have never heard of the motor leaking coolant from that location but if it is, you would have to be very sure. thats an awkward place for a leak to be, in general.

Removing the pipe is gonna be easy, it's getting access to it that's the fun part. You have to take the intake off to access it. Maybe if you had long, thin hands and an extra elbow you could get to it from the bottom.
