Hey, im 16 and looking to buy my first car (well first OWN car) anyway, i was wondering, would it be better to just keep driving my moms saab (900) or should i try to buy a civic, and if i should go with the civic, what year, etc. would you suggest???

If you are looking for a 88-91 civic, I would recommend a Si. Easier to get parts for, more tunability. However, some would suggest a CRX as opposed to a Civic Hatch bc the CRX is lighter. It's really just personal opinion.

 

well, you're on a honda board so most people are gonna say to go with the civic/crx over the saab. One good reason to get a honda is because you'll save some money on gas, and they're just so much fun to drive
The CRX is considered a little sportier, but i still my hatch
what are you planning on doing with the car?? just a daily driver? planning on doing an engine swap in the near future.
if its just a daily driver and you're not swapping engines anytime soon go for an Si like importfan85 said, itll have a bit more luxury, and as to hatch or crx?? its your choice.

 

get an EF!!!!!!!!!! crx or si (88 - 91), or you can get a DA integra ls, gs, or maybe a gsr (insurance will suck if your 16 on the gsr), you can get any EF for under 3k in good condition, ls, gs, 3000 - 5000, the gsr 4000 - 5500. good luck and stop driving that sabb

i would go with a 88-91 crx si...unless you plan to do a swap but thats a whole different story...

 

lol my first car was a 1986 Pontiac 6000LE. It kept breaking down and overheating...etc. My EF gives me no such troubles. Go with the Saab for now (if it's free) and look for a Honda (duh!) that fits your budget.

 

arent saabs high maintenance? well go with a civic/crx good mpg and if u get a si..good power
