Default z6/y8 no start! distributor/ecu gurus please help!

alright soo long story short:
90 honda crx.
d16z6/y8 swap
obd0->obd1 dpfi->mpfi : all connections are solid.
p28 ecu running custom basemap. messed around with crome a lil bit.
td80u dizzy

EDIThk this is the only weird thing i've done with the car that totally boggles me.. i have the obd2a dizzy
rewired each wire myself and double and triple checked it. now, using this diagram. the ONLY thing that i don't understand is that the car started with 5 (CPG) and 6 (CYPG) switched around. any distributor genius's in here explain to me how the hell that's even possible? i understand the ckp fires 24 times per revolution and the tdc fires 4..? butt howw
http://oi48.tinypic.com/ao5nnt.jpg

the problem:
turn the key.. no CEL. just a battery light. (bad ecu???) grounds are good. (have the two going to the thermostat housing and the connection is clean.)

walk to the car in the morning and it will start after 5-6 cranks (sometimes last couple days it hasn't). it warms up fine and all. even drove it around the block a few times.

once i turn it off.. it wont start again. it simply cranks, fires, then dies immidiately. sometimes it spits and sputters like it's not getting the fuel for some reason.

just put a fuel pump in it (used, but from a working wrecked honda), the main relay clicked 3 times. (ordered a new one just in case)
tried a new coolant temp sensor and it did the same thing.

ALSo: the odd part is the car runs with the CKPG and the TDCG wires switched around.. all other wires in there proper place on the dizzy clip and the ecu. HOW?!!

...on a side note my next guess is that i may have fried the ecu.. when i first hooked everything up, i got the two obd0 white wires mixed up at the dizzy. (ya know the igniter inp. signal -large white and the cpg -not so smaller white)
WITH all that^ said.. i ordered a new ecu 4sng's to see what happens..

i've been plagued with this problem going on one-2 months now. i'm running out of ideas and i'm about to say fuckitall and just buy a new wiring harness and obd1 dizzy and start from scratch...

just trying to do this site some good and follow up on my post for someone elses good..

soo i eventually reset the ecu. and was able to pull codes. apparently if u reset the ecu with it already jumped u wont get anything at all.. the codes i recieved were 4 (ckp) 10(IAT) and 14(IACV)
when i rewired my dizzy i mangled a few of the pins and i don't think it was a solid connection. ran to the junkyard soldered in a new one and boom no more code 4
as far as the iat, ive always been under the impression that hondas will run fine without one. apparently that's not the case THE CAR DID NOT START WITHOUT THE IAT.
the iacv was just stupid (and not that big of a deal) but the clip didn't want to fit as i had drilled my own holes for the iacv on the IM. (it was a auto y8).
trying to find the proper tune and hopefully a good location for the IAT for temporary tonight, fingers crossed the car runs this weekend!
CHEERS!

after all the above stated and fixed the car didnt run or start.
it just fired once after cranking a lot sputtered, then died immediately.
just before i left my house today i was thinking about the wiring. at this point i literally have everything memorized. i recalled a while back looking over the jumper harness and thinking some of the wires were messed up.
well there in lies my problem, sure enough i opened the garage one last time and boom, the wires on the jumper harness for the CKP and CYP were switched, all 4 on the obd1 side.. i swapped them around real quick turned the car over and boom fired up and ran! except it was still in limp mode. but needless to say the car ran! lol
thanks to this thread here, made me realize the difference in the harnesses.

resetting the ecu tomorrow when i get home and hopefully all codes and limp mode is all gone!

god i love replying to myself!! ~ but in the long run i hope this does someone some good on there first swap as i received little to no outside help with my wiring just a lot of diagrams from these sights..

after ~4 months of countless hrs of headache and learning.. ive got it all figured out. so after swapping the harnesses i still had the problem of the car being in limp mode. and throwing the ckp CEL(4). turns out when i depinned the wire for the dpfi->mpfi swap i actually stretched/twisted the pin. i ended up having to resolder a new pin and that solved that problem almost immediately.
i then started testing between the p72 and p30 basemaps on crome. p30 because i could delete the iacv leaving me with 0 CEL's. but i had a terrible lope/cutout at 1500rpm's.
the p72 basemap turned out to work the best. i pulled some timing on the base map and added some fuel on the low end and its running pretty smooth as of now. and no lope at 1500 rpms! just need an alignment. and the car should be on the road next week.

i think it still smokes though, but needless to say it moves smoothly down the road now so nbd
