Hi all! Its my first post here!

I just picked up a new to me 2001 civic, it came with the keyless entry. For some odd reason the car will beep randomly when I come close to it with the transmitter in my pocket.

The car will lock/unlock the corner lights flash - so I am assuming that is all well. But yet I get these random beeps after the fact.

So I'll lock the car in the driveway, walk away from it then walk by it and it beeps.

I highly doubt this is normal? Any advice or tips you guys have for me to see what's going on? The battery has been replaced in the FOB.

 

it might not be connected correctly take it to a stereo guy

 

Its a OEM alarm with the OEM stereo still installed in the car. Why take it to a stereo guy? Plus id like to resolve this myself

Hondas came with keyless entry? This is new to me.

 

Okay, are we thinking of seperate things for keyless entry?

As far as I am aware the LX modules could have the remote to unlock/lock doors straight from the factory?

No worries, I think after researching some more its something with the key itself.

Because when the battery is removed from the key the vehicle does not randomly beep when I'm near it with the key. So it has to be something in the transmitter.
