I have a 1.6 VTEC with Si knuckles Anyone else???
Just discovered that my 95 Civic Del Sol 1.6L DOHC VTEC has Si steering knuckles on both front wheels.
The car is definatly a VTEC according to the VIN number
The knuckles appear factory and un-tampered with (i.e. this looks like the first time they have been apart) but they are Si knuckles which means different wheel bearings, rotors and brakes
Has anyone else seen this from the factory before---could they have just installed the wrong parts from the get-go????
Sure has been a pain taking parts back and getting the right ones
DO i have an Odd-ball Del Sol or has anyone else had this happen???
Thanks in advance for any responses

He is talking about it have the lower model del sol si knuckles with the smaller brakes on his "vtec" model.
There is no regardless when it comes to the motor. If its a factory b16a3 del sol it should have the different knuckles and larger brakes.
And op, no they didnt put the wrong parts on the car from the factory. There's no way of telling that they have never been apart before. Road grime is quite the disquise.

I suspect you're getting confuse with the Civic EM1 "Si" which had a B16. The del Sol with the B16 was called the "VTEC". (Even though the del Sol Si had a D16Z6, which also had VTEC ... confused more yet?)
Yes I'm lost since this is motor talk confirm a 1989 BA6A6 DOHC VTEC cause their selling mw one for cheap just wanna know what it id some Mexican junkyard has it. Or is it a B16A? I'm new to the Honda Game so can someone help?

So how can you tell which is the highest model of the del sol's?
Usually the "si" is the "sportier" model, but is the "VTEC" model the top of the line for the del sol's? I would love to find the last year made, bone stock del sol.
