LOL. The distributor doesn't generate ANY electric power form being spun by the cam. THe only thing the distrubutor does is route the energy stored in the coil to the appropriate plug wire depending on the position of the crank/camshafts.
It appears he is indeed running a distributorless ignition system however. (Individual coils)

I believe that it's a electromotive ignition system, which uses a crank trigger to fire the proper cylinder rather than the standard cam driven distributor.
