Hi, one day at night got in my car, started it and since I don't have carpet I liked over to the passenger side where you put your feet and saw a red flashing light. Does anyone know what it is? 88 crx

 

Its a check engine light. See how many times it flashes and jot it down cause its throwing a code.

 

Under that metal plate (usually covered by carpet), if the car's ECU. The red blinking light is telling you that the ECU has detected a trouble code. Simply count the number of red blinks, and then type "EF crx ECU codes" into google.com. Or you can probably find the ECU codes in the "stickies" section of this EF forum area. Then find your number of red blinks in the ECU code list.

code 20 is for the ELD (Electric Load Detector) - usually means that the alternator is not functioning properly
