1990 Civic LX Chip?
Hi guys Im new to the site. I've been wondering though if there is a way to chip my 1990 Honda civic lx? It's got the 1.5 d15 engine with the dual point fuel injection. I've been looking at the bully dog chip but it says you need the obd2 port and I've looked up what my car has and it says it has the opd1 port. So if someone could help that'd be great!! Thanks.
You can probably chip it.
Chipping meaning that you remove or bypass the stock chip to a programmable one.
the problem is that there aren't any tunes for the 1.5 that you could load onto the new programmable chip.
Totally not worth doing anyway.
For under $100 you can do an MPFI swap. Much better for performance.

I agree with 4drEF, doing the 4 injector swap is a big power gain, i did mine about a month ago.
things you will need:
OBD1 ECU (p06)
OBD0 to OBD1 ECU jumper harness
OBD1 Dizzy
OBD0 to OBD1 Dizzy jumper harness
Multi port intake manifold
OBD0 or OBD1 injectors
Resistor box if you are going to run OBD0 injectors
4wire O2 sensor although not necessary if you can live with the CEL.
there are so many write-ups on this along with making your own harness.
if you do this you will not be disappointed.

When is the last time a tuneup was done?
If thats up to date, light wheels with smaller diameter tire.
I had hx wheels at one point (roughly 11 lbs a piece) with 195/55r15 tires. I saw around 3mpg highway increase and butt dyno said it was a lil quicker...

I don't think there is a way. the old BMW and Mercs that had these are just vacuum gauges they are not true to life.
The best way I found is to fill it til the pump clicks then reset the trip odo and run the car and when you get low fill it again and do the math.
